Brainloop AG (hereafter: "Brainloop") takes data security concerns very seriously and wants to ensure that your privacy as a user of the Brainloop website is protected.
We have thus prepared a Data Security Statement explaining how we handle your personal data.
Brainloop reserves the right to adjust the content of this Data Security Statement from time to time. It is thus recommended that you review it on a regular basis.
1. General
Brainloop is committed to observing the requirements of the EU data security directives.
We process and use your personal data only with your permission or when allowed by law, and only such data necessary for the rendering of our services and the usage our website, or data you voluntarily provided to us.
2. Personal Data
Personal data means any information concerning the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable individual. This includes information such as your name, address, or telephone number.
3. Processing and Using Your Data
3.1. We gather, process, and use your data, such as provided by you in a survey or when registering for our services, to the respective extent required for the following purposes:
- Registration: For your access to our services (e.g. your email address);
- Contacting you: In answering your questions (e.g. your email address);
- Providing services: For administration and processing purposes in providing our services (e.g. your email address, your name, or your address);
- Marketing purposes: In so far as you have agreed to the use of data for this purpose or not stated otherwise, we will provide you with information about our products and services;
- Personalizing our offerings: In order to tailor our services optimally, we store cookies on your computer.
3.2. In addition, we gather technical data such as the name of your Internet service providers, Internet browser, operating system and screen resolution, as well as information on the website that led you to us, the number and dates of your visits, the average time spent, and the websites visited with us. This data is saved automatically. It is evaluated anonymously and exclusively for statistical purposes in order to further improve our Web presence for you.
3.3. In order to guarantee effective access protection, Brainloop can also temporarily store your IP address. IP addresses are numbers used to address the data packets in the Internet. If misuse is indicated, the IP address of the questionable pseudonym will be stored once at the time of the first login after the indication of misuse, and given an appropriate court order, the IP address will be forwarded along with the other personal data to the proper law enforcement agency. If the indication of misuse is unfounded, the stored IP address will be deleted immediately.
4. Transmission of Personal Data
Brainloop will not transmit your data to third parties unless you have previously given your express permission or the transmission is required or permissible by law. In particular, we will neither sell nor otherwise market your data to third parties. The transmission of data to state institutions or authorities may only take place in the context of mandatory national legislation. We require our employees and partners to maintain confidentiality and to observe legal regulations regarding data security.
5. Cookies
5.1. Brainloop uses cookies in order to be able to recognize you as a user during your visit to the website and in the context of our services, and in order to store technical data for the correct functioning of individual offerings on your computer. A cookie is a text file that is saved on your computer and that makes an analysis of your use of the website possible. With these cookies Brainloop saves only a random session number and random serial number for your visit.
5.2. This website uses etracker technology (www.etracker.com) to collect visitor behavior data. The data is collected anonymously to be used for marketing and optimization purposes. All visitor data is saved using an anonymous user ID to aggregate a usage profile. Cookies may be used for this purpose. Cookies are small text files that are stored in the visitor's local browser cache. Using such cookies it is possible to recognize the visitor's browser.
The data collected via etracker technology will not be used to determine the personal identity of the website visitor or compiled with personal data pertaining to the user of the pseudonym unless agreed to separately by the person concerned. 5.3. If you do not wish cookies to be used, you can block their usage in your browser. It cannot be ruled out in that case that important parts of our website and the services offered there will no longer function properly.
6. Use of Data for Marketing Purposes / Consent
6.1. Based on your statement of consent, Brainloop will process and use your personal data (name, sex, postal code, and year of birth) for marketing activities such as sending emails containing general information or advertising material (newsletter).
6.2. You may retract your statement of consent at any time with future effect. In addition, in so far as we use your data in a legally permissible context such as for marketing activities through the post, you may object to such use.

7. Data Storage
Your data will be stored only as long as required for us to provide our services or as long as we are legally obligated to save it.
8. Information, Correction, Deletion
You have the right at any time to obtain information free of charge about your data saved with Brainloop. Should we have saved your data incorrectly or wrongly, we will glady correct, block, or delete it. We ask you to please inform us of any changes to your data without delay.
