Brainloop AG, the leading provider of software solutions for sharing strictly confidential information across the extended enterprise, today announced Brainloop Secure Dataroom Version 7.0. The new version not only protects documents on the central server and during transmission, but also after delivery to the desktop. This makes Brainloop Secure Dataroom Version 7.0 the first end-to-end security solution that protects confidential documents throughout their entire lifecycle.

The dataroom's user-friendly interface and integrated policy management ensures that security policies are consistently applied to documents in the everyday working environment. Predefined document security categories help users manage the powerful security capabilities of the underlying system. Brainloop Secure Dataroom automatically determines the ideal transfer and presentation mechanism depending on the capabilities available on the destination desktop.

• SECURE PRESENTATION OF CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENTS - EVEN OUTSIDE THE DATAROOM
  
  Brainloop Secure Dataroom 7.0 now supports Microsoft's XPS as an additional format for Brainmark presentation, a Brainloop technology enabling secure and configurable presentation of a document. Brainmark provides each document with a unique identification number. Alongside PDF, XPS can be used to embed watermarks in the Brainmark view. The advantage of XPS is that this format is easy to protect using Microsoft RMS (Rights Management System). The standard XPS viewer provides an additional secure method of forwarding documents for viewing purposes only.
  

• COLLABORATION ON CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENTS - WITH NO CLIENT SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
  
  Brainloop Secure Dataroom 7.0 is the most comprehensive solution for protecting confidential documents - down to the desktop of the recipient. Brainloop's administration console ensures that the application is extremely intuitive to use. Using Microsoft RMS, access rights to Microsoft Office documents in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and XPS formats can be enforced even outside the dataroom. The encryption and access rights defined in the dataroom remain in force if the user saves or forwards the document locally. The administration of Microsoft's RMS engine is managed entirely by the dataroom.

• SECURE EMAIL IN THE DATAROOM
  
  Brainloop has developed a new email module to better protect communications between the members of a dataroom. The dataroom can be configured so that all types of confidential information, including notifications, message summaries, and messages between users, are sent in encrypted form. Depending on their profile, recipients of a document receive either the message encrypted with an X.509 certificate, or simply a notification that a new document or email is available. Sending a notification ensures that users can only view the confidential email copy in their personal inbox within the dataroom. As a result, the Brainloop Secure Dataroom acts as a secure hub for all communications within security-critical business processes.
