Brainloop secures confidential data at Janitos Versicherung

Boston, June 24, 2008 - Brainloop AG, a leading provider of software solutions for sharing strictly confidential information across the extended enterprise, today announced that its Secure Dataroom solution has been deployed by Janitos Versicherung AG, a German-based insurance company. Janitos is using the Brainloop on-demand solution as a strategic platform for sharing asset data with its self-employed insurance brokers. Janitos selected Brainloop's solution as it complied with all relevant security standards and fulfilled all functional requirements. An additional reason for the choice was that, as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, it could be implemented immediately. As a result, the need for client software installation and time-consuming user training was eliminated.

Janitos now handles a range of confidential communication processes via the Brainloop dataroom. These include sharing confidential customer information and sales commission accounting with its external insurance brokers. In addition, Janitos imports files on damages claims into the dataroom from SAP Workflow and makes them available to brokers in a secure environment. It also uses the solution to place orders with external service partners. Janitos was looking for a solution offering the highest security standards, rapid implementation, thorough documentation of all communications, and no need for up-front investment. The company also required an interface to its internal SAP systems to underpin its day-to-day automated data transfer and synchronization processes.

The Secure Dataroom software is designed with comprehensive security features that include an encrypted filing system in the virtual dataroom. In addition, uploads and downloads of data room content are protected by 128-bit encryption, while all content on the data room server itself is secured with strong, 256-bit encryption. Customers can also benefit from additional security features with two-factor authentication. This requires the user to enter a password as well as information from a token, such as a chip card or mobile phone with a one-time key provided by SMS. Alongside secure and confidential communication, the Brainloop Secure Dataroom also delivers a tamper-proof report of the entire information flow in the form of an integrated audit trail. Once a project has been completed, the data room content is archived along with the audit trail.
