CMS Hasche Sigle: Secure contract management for IT-outsourcing projects in Brainloop Secure Dataroom
Munich, Germany - June 13, 2007 CMS Hasche Sigle, a leading national and international law firm with headquarters in Germany, has chosen the Brainloop Dataroom for its secure document management requirements. The virtual Dataroom from Brainloop AG is a web-based software solution that allows CMS Hasche Sigle and its associates, lawyers, technicians, managers and consultants to share information easily and securely. CMS Hasche Sigle professionals working in different countries, different time zones, and behind different firewalls can share information online with the same level of security as if they were all working in the same office and behind the same firewall. The Dataroom provides each authorized user with immediate access to the latest version of the document, helping the team members work more accurately and more effectively.
FThe confidentiality of the documents within the Dataroom is assured both through encrypted data transfer as well as through strong user authentication. The documents are encrypted by 128-bit encryption as they are uploaded and downloaded and protected by 256-bit encryption as they reside in the Dataroom. Users who request access to the Dataroom are authenticated through a two-factor process. First, each user has a unique password, and second, each user can have either a chipcard or the Dataroom can send a PIN number to that user's mobile phone. That PIN number is for one-time use only.
The Dataroom supports different groups of authorized users. Lawyers might share one set of documents while engineers share a different set of documents. Some managers might have access to all the documents. The rules by which documents are shared are flexible and the Dataroom can be configured to accommodate different company's requirements. However, the technicians who manage and administer the Dataroom have access to none of the documents.
Michael Ranft, IT-Director from CMS Hasche Sigle, explains "In addition to the regular exchange of confidential documents with our lawyers, consultants, technicians and managers, the web-based Brainloop Secure Dataroom is also extremely useful in structuring our diverse IT-outsourcing projects. The Dataroom guarantees that we have the secure, efficient and integrated communication platform we need to exchange information among our different parties."
CMS Hasche Sigle uses the Brainloop Dataroom not only to provide secure and confidential communication, but also to record a complete audit trail of the information flow for all the documents in the Dataroom. After a negotiation or a project is completed, the Dataroom content, including the audit trail, is archived in a CD-ROM. Future security requirements, including the watermarking of a document or a read-only mode, are also supported by Brainloop Dataroom.
CMS Hasche Sigle has chosen the ASP version of The Secure Dataroom. The server is hosted by a third party in a specially secured data center and CMS Hasche Sigle uses the Dataroom as a service. The Secure Dataroom is also available as a software solution and some companies have preferred to purchase the software and host the Dataroom on their own servers.
