The Brainloop management team

  • Bernhard Wöbker, Chief Executive Officer

  • Bernhard Wöbker is a seasoned Software and IT Executive with significant international experience at both large companies as well as start-ups, where he has been active as a business angel and early stage investor since 1986. Bernhard began his career as a software engineer with Nixdorf Computer AG, where he held various positions, among them President and CEO of Nixdorf, U.S.A., in charge of building up the company's U.S. operations from scratch. He also held senior positions at Pyramid, NeXT and Versant, and served as an advisor to Warburg Pincus.

    Bernhard Wöbker is member of the board at several technology companies in Germany and the USA. Prior to joining Brainloop, Bernhard was CEO, president and chairman of Versant Corporation, a listed enterprise software company, headquartered in Redwood, California (USA).

  • Markus Seyfried, Chief Technology Officer

  • Markus Seyfried has been responsible for the consistent technological development of Brainloop's Secure Dataroom technology as CTO since 2001.

    A Mathematics graduate, Markus gained his experience in leading management positions in well know IT companies.  Prior to Brainloop Markus was an executive board member at IXOS Software AG, where he was responsible for product management, software development and customer service. The integration of documents in SAP applications was one of the main focuses. As a driving force Markus Seyfried was a great part of IXOS' success and growth into a  global player in IT.

  • Johannes Hertz, Chief Financial Officer

  • After graduating from the London School of Economics, Johannes Hertz worked at Goldman Sachs in London for more than a decade.

    From 2009 he was a Managing Director at Nomura International in London, responsible for the Equity Capital Markets business in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the CEE region.

    Since joining Brainloop in 2012, Johannes Hertz is responsible for defining the Company's financial strategy and future investment plans, and for developing its relationships with financial market participants.


  • Dr. Claudia Böttcher, Director Product Management

  • Claudia Böttcher (Ph.D) has been responsible for defining and coordinating Brainloop's product roadmap since 2006 and acts as the central interface between sales and development in the product innovation process.

    Before joining Brainloop, Claudia, a Computer Sciences graduate, held various management positions at Open Text Inc., the latest of them being Director Knowledge Management.Several years of research work in the area of knowledge management and model-based systems at the Fraunhofer Institute for information and data processing in Karlsruhe and at l'Université Paris 13 provided the basis for her more than 15 years of project experience in information and knowledge management.

  • Maurice Grassau, Vice President International Sales

  • Maurice Grassau is responsible for Brainloop's international business expansion.

    Starting his career as a manager in the hospitality industry he soon discovered his aptitude for the art of selling and moved into sales roles in large US companies. Working around the globe developing international and cross industry markets since 1988 Maurice significantly increased his employers turnover and profitability closing classic 'big deals' while recruiting and coaching high performance sales managers.

  • Dr. Stefan Grotehans, Vice President Sales Germany

  • With more than 20 years' experience in software sales and management, Dr. Stefan Grotehans has built a vast fund of practical knowledge.

    Prior to his highly successful role leading German sales in Brainloop, Stefan worked at Microsoft and was responsible for developing sales in a number of well known companies in the manufacturing industry. His in depth technical knowledge stems both from his academic qualifications and his roles in IBM and Silicon Graphics, additionally giving him expertise in enterprise management styles.

  • Marie Pawelzik, Director Finance

  • Marie Pawelzik is responsible for finance, human resources and administration in Brainloop.

    In addition to global accounting and financial management Marie looks after the close cooperation between the executive supervisory boards as well as the preparation of the board meeting contents and other strategic planning issues. A Business Economics graduate, Marie is highly analytical, with proven leadership skills. Her international professional experience was gained at large automobile and semiconductor companies such as Texas Instruments.

  • David Topping, Vice President Global Marketing

  • A highly experienced marketing strategist and manager David learned his trade with companies such as IBM. 

    During his years there he was one of the creators of the first truly global marketing teams and one of the pioneers to take the DB2 database management system onto non IBM platforms. Further senior management positions in international and mid-market technology companies followed. An Economics graduate David is a proponent of business globalization and is responsible for the strategic positioning and global branding and marketing of Brainloop.

  • Karolina Wintermann, Corporate Counsel

  • Karolina heads Brainloop's legal department, gaining her extensive international experience in law firms and the legal departments of large US and European companies prior to taking on responsibility for our often complex strategic contract negotiations with customers, partners and service providers.

    In addition to managing contracts from bid to close she advises Brainloop on all  issues of concerning company law, intellectual property protection rights, data security, employees and employers rights as well as compliance issues.
